Weariness. Exhaustion. Loss of interest. Lethargy. These are all conditions that can easily pull us off course from the dreams and goals we have committed to in the Lord.

Daniel 7:25, tells us that Satan would strive to ‘wear out the saints of the Most High.’ It is no secret that the enemy of our souls is striving to wear us down and rob us of our spiritual momentum. This message is a fresh inspiration for us all to keep battling, keep pressing in and keep pushing forward in the things of God

This is a special 2-part series where Pastor Jeff preaches on exposing the works of FEAR and DOUBT in our lives.

The word “Expose” implies that there is a state or moment of discovery of something not yet known - a formal exposition of facts. Fear is a universal problem, and we all know the devastating affect it can have on our lives. It freezes us. It slows us down. It paralyzes us. Doubters find themselves in that place between belief and unbelief. Not quite sure if it’s true. Not quite sure if it’s false. Gripped by uncertainty. Halted by hesitation. Vacillating in suspicion.

Listen to these messages to discover how these things are robbing us of our destiny and how we can resist them.

Part two of this series talks about the ‘outward’ distortions we deal with, and how devastating they can be in the lives of others. What Next?  In other words, ‘What is beyond?”

Our world is full of special people who’ve gone ‘beyond’ in their own lives, performing miraculous feats of physical strength, courage, sacrifice, selflessness and charity. Back in 1955, the Guinness Book of World Records was printed for the very first time. These yearly productions put people on display who have set their mind-blowing feats on display for the world to see. Such accomplishments are indeed worthy of admiration, but I wonder if they’ve made any real impact on our world or the people living in it.

Tune in to Pastor Mark Colwell, who brought his incredible humour and insight to Kingsview, with the impacting message of “What Next?”

In the New Testament, love is more of a verb than a noun. It has more to do with acting than with feeling. The call to love is not so much a call to a certain state of feeling as it is to a quality of action.

According to the world, we love in order to be loved. According to the Word, we love because God first loved us. When the world falls in love, God’s people are rooted in love. But, the love that we possess, is not a fleeting whim that comes and goes with every mood and circumstance.

It is a love that is beyond ourselves. So, join Pastor Jeff and Kingsview as they wrap up our course in ‘Love U’ - the university of the “most excellent way”.

It’s tough to love 100% of the time. It’s tough to love your spouse, tough to love your kids, tough to love your family, your co-workers, and your neighbors. It’s especially tough to love when it feels like the love is only one-sided or when you face the sting of rejection or when you are just plain irritated.

In 1 Corinthians 13 we read some staggering thoughts of the actions of love, and Carrie Johnston takes us through an incredible look of what LOVE IS.

Sanctification is a big word that refers to a process of becoming more like Christ. A process of growing in holiness. This process begins the instant you are converted and will not end until you meet Jesus face-to-face.

Sanctification is about our own choices and behavior.  It involves work.  Empowered by God’s Spirit, we strive to fight sin.  We study Scripture and pray, even when we don’t feel like it. We resist temptation. We press on. We run hard in the pursuit of holiness.  As we become more and more sanctified, the power of the gospel transforms us more and more closely to the character of Jesus Christ.

Hear this message, and give the Lord permission to speak into your heart and life about Sanctification.

We live in a soft age. Everything comes easy these days. Everything comes fast. Effortless. Inventions are rolling out of the creative minds of innovators every year that put greater things in our hands faster, cheaper and trouble free.

Yet, we’re not sure God exists on the same page as all that. God likes to be pursued. Chased. Longed for.  He likes it when opposition and barriers come our way, to see what we end up doing with it. Is it enough to deter our desire, slow us down or stop us in our tracks?

This is where desperation comes in.  And, this is what this week’s message is all about!

On the evening of Christ’s birth, an angel of God announced the wonderful news of the arrival of a Saviour… news that would change their lives, and ours forever. What great news that was to them!

A savior is simply defined as being one who saves, preserves, or delivers from destruction or danger.  And, a saviour was something they never had or experienced before.  Sure, they had kings, prophets, priests and the like – but a Saviour…WOW!

This Christmas message takes a fresh look at all the benefits and blessings we can call our own, because we have a Saviour, and His Name is Jesus.

That night of the birth of Christ in Bethlehem, a small group of shepherds was quietly tending their flocks. To them, nothing probably seemed any different that night, from any other night of their lifetime. Suddenly, a bright light shone, and an angel of God began to speak of the wonderful news of the arrival of a Saviour. It is the original Christmas story. And it is a story we are going to engage in over the next few weeks, as we look at what the Angels Spoke of.

This particular message deals with how we need to make peace with God, walk in the peace of God, and live in peace with others.

Shame on you.’

Many of us have heard those words and felt the sting in our souls. Maybe it was many years ago as a child, or even more recently, when that has been spoken over us.

We might have done something dishonorable, failed to do something noble, or even found ourselves in a some kind of undesirable state or condition, and we became an open target for someone to thrash us with that statement - and heap an unbearable amount of guilt and embarassment over our lives.

In today’s message, we’re going to see how it’s time to overthrow the shame that has been put on us. It’s a lie that whispers, ‘you’re not good enough.’ Christ is inside of us, and He is good enough!!! That’s why we need to get the ‘shame OFF you’… for good!

Pay it forward…

It seems as though our culture has a problem with impulsive living.  In other words, people are compromising something in a weak or emotional moment - something they wouldn’t do under ordinary circumstances.  And most times, they end up regretting it. In today’s message, we’re going to hear a challenge to be making investments into our futures, instead of withdrawals.  A challenge to live a life that will ‘pay it forward’.

Back in Old Testament times, when something was ‘anointed’, that meant it was given a purpose to be used by God.  It was set apart from the common, dedicated as holy, and devoted to that particular use.  To symbolize this, there was a ceremonial act where it was covered with sacred oil of the anointing. Exodus 30 describes the specific ingredients of the anointing – ingredients that were blended together to create this special oil of the anointing.

This message looks at the significance of each of these elements, and how they compound together to form that sacred anointing. Obvious parallels will be drawn to the anointing of God we’re seeking in our own lives today. Because our churched need to be filled with people that want to be used by God, dreaming of such things as leading others in worship.  Ministering hope and healing to the broken.  Reaching the lost for Christ.  Making a difference in this world with our God-given gifts.  None of which can be done without His anointing.

Broken. Blessed.

The two words don’t seem to go together. If anything, they seem to be exact opposites, because nothing feels blessed about being broken!

The most painful and difficult times of our lives have been experienced during brokenness, and we don’t like pain, suffering, or feelings of brokenness any more than the rest of the world. But this message brings hope, and looks at how God’s blessing comes in the wake of our brokenness.

Romans 4:15 says; ‘Where there is no law, there is no violation.’ In other words, we need to have a godly standard set up in our lives, or else we will be oblivious to the ways that we fall short of the righteousness God calls us to.

Our words.  Our actions.  Our thoughts.  They will all run out of control, unless they are held in check by some Biblical convictions.  Such is our need for convictions - having more than starchy rules to follow, but rather a daily choice to engage in a  better way of living that honours Jesus in all that we do.

I’ve heard it said that until we are convicted of our own sin – we can never be freed from it.  There is a real need for us to invite the Lord to take a deeper look at our lives, and reveal to us the areas we can bring into alignment with His Word through a powerful set of convictions.  So, let’s enter in to God’s Word, and take a deeper look at the importance and power of considering our convictions.

Grace is never cheap.  It is absolutely free to us.  It is infinitely expensive to God.  He gave up His only Son, so that we could experience grace today.  And, what an amazing grace that is!  Before we can learn the sufficiency of God’s grace though, we must learn the insufficiency of our own efforts.  The more we are aware of our weaknesses, the more we appreciate God’s beautiful grace in its dimension of His divine help in our lives.  This message by Carrie Johnston will touch your life in a special way.

Every year, we celebrate Thanksgiving, and pastors everywhere preach on the subject of ‘giving thanks’.  We’ve got to have an ‘Attitude of Gratitude’ they say.  On and on, the attempts to keep us giving thanks roll off the pulpits.  But, why do we need to keep hearing about this?  Why do we have to keep coming back to this over and over again?  Why can’t we just get the message?

Because we all have difficulty at times remembering how good we really have it.  Don’t know what I’m talking about?  Think back to the time you returned home from a missions trip to that impoverished country, feeling that fresh awakening to consciousness of all the good God has showered upon you.

I’ve heard it said that we can only be truly alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.  In this message, we hear how important it is for us to walk in a spirit of gratitude instead of grumbling.  God forbid we would ever shake our own fist towards heaven, saying ‘Thanks for Nothing’.

Desire is easy.  Discipline is tough.  We’ve all been inspired by a good sermon, a wonderful movie, or a challenging book.  But discipline is where the challenge becomes real.  When the desire that was inspired is no longer inspiring us, the only thing to move us closer to God is discipline - the choice to devote ourselves to seek a deeper intimacy with God.  This message takes a look at how it isn’t really God who needs to be awoken from His slumber.  When it comes to finding a new intimacy with the Lord, it is US who need to be called to our senses - to be as present to God as He is to us.
